- I seem to have a problem with some memory in my Zeus '040. Can anyone here
- suggest how to go about fixing this?
-
- I have the first three of the RAM banks populated with 1 X 8 SIMMs and the
- last bank populated with 4 X 8 SIMMs. I add the memory using "addmem >nil:
- 08000000 09C00000 32bit local". I am using version 3.01 of addmem.
-
- When I use MemTest to check the RAM, it reports many, many errors. The
- lowest address seems to be around $088CA180 and the highest seems to be
- around $08BFFD40. If I have learned to figure out these hex -> decimal
- conversions properly, this puts the errors between 8 megs and 11 megs of my
- 32 bit RAM.
-
- So my question is, how do I determine which SIMM(s) are defective? Is
- there some way of figuring it out using the memory addresses? Or is it a
- brute strength method of changing every SIMM as if they were Christmas tree
- lights?
